Colors have different wave lengths and they effect the way we see, hear and feel them. Red has the longest wave length making it more aggressive, louder and warmer. Blue on the other hand has the shortest wave length making it calmer, softer and cooler. When colors are arranged together with their sounds in mind, a painting can be composed to feel like a music. Notice how red comes forward to create drama and how blue recedes backward and has a calmer mood.

VISIT MY WEBSITE & BLOG amyvangsgard.com All of my life I have loved color. Through my art, I hope to communicate the amazing feelings I have when I view the world of color around us. I am fascinated by the way light illuminates plants from behind with glowing colors, the way color changes when one color is juxtaposed against another, and the way color can take on a mood and affect the way we feel. I would like to share the great joy that color brings into my life with those who view my artwork by creating a new way of experiencing color. Please browse my site and feel the joy of color.
